Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-Five

I went for a wander in my local area determine to enjoy the wonderful weather and appreciate the world around me. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

On my wander I passed a wooded area. I was about to keep on walking but I stopped for a few moments and noticed a plethora of wildlife living in amongst the foliage. This little ladybug captured my attention.

Image taken 29 March 2011

I crept up really close so I wouldn't have to crop the image. It seemed everytime I got into position it would fly away but I finally managed to capture it on 'film' (well, you know what I mean). This image isn't as sharp as I would have liked but I didn't have my tripod so I had to shoot hand-held (something I rarely do with my macro lens). Still I think it turned out well. This little ladybug happily posed for this picture before flying away off on another adventure...

And I felt ever so grateful to be alive and to have witnessed such a sight.

Until my next post I hope you manage to find a little bit of wonderful in every day.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-Four

There is something within me that recites random lines of poetry in my mind at regular intervals. I suppose it's to be expected when you've spent the last three years studying Literature. This little quirk arises at the any time. Sometime I take a photo and ALL I can think about this the poem it reminds me of.

So day one hundred and twenty-four's photo reminded me of Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood by William Wordsworth.

Image taken 28 March 2011

This photo reminded me of this particular excerpt of the photo:

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

Ah! Wordsworth gets me every time. It is just so beautiful! Are you a Wordsworth fan? Or do photographs ever remind you of poetry?

Until my next post I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-Three

I can find the most mundane things utterly beautiful. On day one hundred and twenty-three I went to the fruit shop of stock up on all things healthy and yummy. As I was putting away my mushrooms I was transfixed by the gills (is that what they're called?). They are so delicate and interesting.

Image taken 27 March 2011

Mushrooms are amazing. Don't you think? They are so versatile and tasty (depending on how you cook them). I find it a little strange to think of them as a fungus - that just grosses me out a little. But they are so yummy that I can look past it - just as long as I don't think about it to much. Are you a fan of mushrooms?

Hold on another update is on the way.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-Two

Day one hundred and twenty-two was an fantastic (albeit busy) day of catching out with some amazing people. Friends and family are so important. And I think life is pretty great when I'm surrounded by fantastic people.

Anyway I was watching my cousin feed her little baby (she had featured on the blog before) and I saw the more beautiful sight.

Image taken 26 March 2011

Isn't it cute? I can feel the love in this picture. My cousin is a great mum and I am thankful I can see her continuing in this great adventure. Of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a couple of pictures of this beautiful little girl.

It was a wonderful afternoon where I got to catch up with some family members I haven't seen in quite a while. Plus I even got to meet another of my cute second cousin's - Miss J is a beautiful little girl. I can't wait to take a few more pictures of her in the future. My camera kept snapping throughout the afternoon.

Then if that wasn't a fantastic enough day I then got to have a wonderful dinner with one of my best friend. She is an amazing person who constantly inspires and encourages me. Yep life is pretty fantastic when you're surrounded by the people you love.

More updates are on the way...

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-One

Sometimes you just have to take a photo of a pretty flower.

Image taken 25 March 2011

The petals are so very bright. They're the only flowers growing in my garden (mainly because they totally look after themselves) and every time I look out into my yard they're like little bursts of happiness.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty

This post could otherwise be entitled: 'Going Corporate With A Tafline Twist'. Lately I've been enjoying getting all dressed up and experimenting with different looks. I find I have more self-confidence if I dress as me - not trying to fit into what's in fashion or wondering what people think. If I feel happy in myself then I am happy.

Anyway I put this outfit together and it made me feel so good that I knew it had to feature are the photo of the day.

Image taken 24 March 2011

Yes those are bright fuchsia thights -- and I adore them!! They don't look very bright in this photo because I was in the shade but they are beautiful and bright. I think they're pretty cool. They just make me happy. If I worked in an office I would love to to rock this look.

All in all day one hundred and twenty was a great day - with a trip to the optometrist (have I told you recently how great my optometrist is?) and meeting up with a friend. Most of all I felt good about myself... And that's seems like a pretty great day to me. So long live bright tights!!

Until next time I hope your weekend is shaping up to be wonderful.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Nineteen

I had a few different photo ideas for day one hundred and nineteen. But in all the busyness of the day I simply ran out of time and had to make do with an indoor object.

Image taken 23 March 2011

Even though this isn't the image I was looking for or of anything really beautiful or anything I still like it. It gives me a chance to practice my skills. I was originally just going to have the heap of eyeshadow powder by itself but I very quickly realized that looked a little suspect.

A more interesting update on the way.

March 23, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Eighteen

I have repeated myself and taken two sunset pictures in a row. Not cool. But I was heading out of the movie theater and I saw the beauty of the light. And before I was even really aware my camera was in my hands and I was snapping away. It's like an automatic reaction!

Image taken 22 March 2011

Sunsets always make me feel so poetic... Like I should be lying on a picnic blanket, basking the the soft light and reciting Keats. I intend to do that one day and it will be lovely.

Until my next post I hope your week is going great!

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Seventeen

My life has been busy of late... So busy in fact that I have had to start using a diary. Something I'm not so good at. But I'm in the process of setting up my life to run well - something that takes a while but is so worth it.

Anyway in the current busyness of my life I am aware that sometimes I just need to stop, breathe, and 'see'. It's a great way to take stock and really hone in on what's important in life. So I went outside and simply looked up... and what I saw was beautiful.

Image taken 21 March 2011

The clouds are perfect reflectors of the dying light of the day. It just makes me stop and be grateful for all that I have and all that I get to see. Does any one else feel like this? Or am I simply giving in to my romantic tendencies?

Stay tuned for more...

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Sixteen

This photo is the result of a failed idea. The plan was to have a picture looking through the eyepiece of my collector camera to the candle beyond. But I didn't have time to set the shoot up the way I wanted it (yes I took this photo at about 11:30pm - but it was still the correct day). I'm interested to see if I can get the shot I want if I take the time to set it up right...

But anyway since I couldn't get the shot I wanted I figured I'd try a different way to showcase this beautiful old(ish) camera.

Image taken 20 March 2011

I am simply in love with this camera! If it wasn't so expensive I'd love to get it fixed so I could actually use it. But for now it's just a dream...

More on the way.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Fifteen

The weather today is exactly the kind of weather I like. Cloudy, rainy - the perfect kind of day to get cozy and read a good book. It seemed like the perfect time to take photos of rain drops. There were these delightful drops hanging on for dear life to my lemon tree.

I wanted to get the shot before the drops fell off the branch.

Image taken 19 March 2011

I find it a little tricky taking photos in the rain - you really need an extra set of hands between changing the position of the tripod ball-head, focusing (then re-focusing because the wind moved it), fiddling with the settings, taking the shot all while trying to wrangle an unwieldy umbrella. But I eventually got the shot. For some reason this photo just makes me feel happy and oh so refreshed.

Until next time stay safe and enjoy your weekend!

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Fourteen

I finally have a 35mm film camera in my bag of tricks. I had ordered a Holga 135bc and it arrived in the mail this week. There are a couple of things I have already discovered: 1) It's a bit fiddly to load 35mm film - I sat there for a fair while trying to get the film to fit. 2) I am truly a child of the digital age - I think I have a few multiple exposures because I forgot to wind the film on.

Anyway my new Holga is a welcome addition to my camera family.

Image taken 18 March 2011

Best of all it's PURPLE. I can't wait to get my first roll developed. I'm eager to see the vignetting, light leaks, and soft focus.

I wish I could have taken a better photo for day one hundred and fourteen but due to certain factors it just wasn't possible. So I had to make do with introducing you to the newest member of the family. I'm still yet to think of a decent name... Any suggestions?

Until my next post I hope you had a wonderful week and that your weekend's shaping up great.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Thirteen

This is another one of those - the day's almost over and I'm yet to take a photo - photos. But in this case it was actually a good idea so I'm okay with it. My macro lens comes to the rescue yet again.

I think I'll entitle it 'Heartburn'.

Image taken 17 March 2011

It took an age to get all those matchsticks into their proper place (due to very unwelcome unsteady fingers). I think it would have looked interesting to have a burnt match right in the middle but the only matches I have were huge and it never would have fit neatly into the middle. Still I it nice that something as common as matches on a white bit of paper can be turned into something interesting.

What do you think of it?

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twelve

Do you have a power outfit? It might be a suit or something else entirely. I have a power outfit. Now this isn't the sort of outfit I could wear into an office situation. In fact this outfit usually gets a few curious glances (or maybe it's just me). I love this outfit it's fun, flirty, colorful and on the right side of hippy for my tastes. In short it simply feels me.

On day one hundred and twelve I decided it was time to break out the power outfit and take some photos.

Image taken 16 March 2011

I love how bright and bubbly this photo is. This is like a depiction of my real personality - bright, bubbly, and colorful. Sometimes I lose my real personality because of... whatever. Does this ever happen to you? All I know is that I had heaps of fun running around with balloons flying everywhere (and I'm sure a few onlookers found it pretty amusing too).

Now I would have liked to have a photo of me jumping making it look like i was about to fly away because of the helium balloons but since I can barely clear the floor it would have looked a little silly. I think I'll have to enlist someone else to pose for me so I can get that shot.

More updates are on the way.

March 15, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Eleven

Do you ever have those days were you feel really busy and accomplish a fair bit but it only takes up a small portion of the day? Well, today was one of those days. I had a very busy morning and then went home to 'decompress'.

But that meant I had a largely indoors sort of day. I did not want another indoor shot. The sudden desire to capture the sunset hit me. Unfortunately this desire hit me as the sun was already setting while I was still tucked away in my home. I quickly grabbed my camera bag and headed for the closest halfway-decent place I could think of. So I hastily made my way to the local park (not sure if it's actually a park or if it's just a uninhabited area because of railway tracks running overhead) to try and capture the failing light.

Image taken 15 March 2011

I think sunset can make anything look so lovely. Even something as (supposedly) dull as overhead railway tracks can be turned into a wonderful silhouette. I love the different hues that the fading sunset creates. It signals the beginning of my favorite time of day - I'm a real night owl.

Until next time I hope you find a bit of beauty in every day.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Ten

Like a lot of people I'm not the biggest fan of the dentist. I'm not completely terrified or anything but it's not my most favorite thing. I really don't like the needles and... well... everything. But I suppose it is all necessary if I want to keep my real teeth until I die. So one day one hundred and ten I took myself off to the dentist. While I was there I asked my dentist if I could take a picture of the instrument tray after my appointment was finished.

Image taken 14 March 2011

Now this photo isn't the sharpest. But remember this was taken after my appointment where I felt like my lip was triple its size. I just wanted to snap the photo and get out of there. So that's exactly what I did. I spent the remainder of the day at home feeling sore and sorry for myself completely unable/unwilling to eat.

How do you feel about the dentist?

March 14, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Nine

I have noticed the majority of my photos in project 365 are of inanimate objects or landscape shots. That's perfectly fine but I want to mix it up a bit - trying to expand my skill set. So I'm planning to do a few more portrait photographs - you know build my portfolio. I already have some people lined up. I can't wait!

But anyway here's a photo of another inanimate object. I do so enjoy a lovely cup of tea. As the weather starts to cool down I am looking forward to settling down with a warming cup of tea. I made myself my first pot of tea of 2011 - I usually just make myself a single cup but this time I went all out.

Image taken 13 March 2011

I think it's such a shame that I own a beautiful tea set - creamer, sugar bowl, cups, the whole bit - and I almost never use it. It's high time I have a tea party I think.

I'm just so excited about taking some more 'people' shots. It's something grand to be able to capture the true essence of a person. That's what I'm always looking for - to capture the precious (sometimes unseen or overlooked) moments and aspects of a person's life. I love growing in my passion and refining my skills. So if you'd like your picture taken contact me and I'd be ecstatic to arrange something!

Until the next update I hope your week is starting off right.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Eight

The moral of this post is sometimes the best laid plans all come to nothing. After a week of being stuck indoors and as a result indoor photography I was determine that today I would take a nice landscape sunset shot.

I went and scouted the area before the sunset, did a few test shots, and knew exactly where I wanted to set up my tripod. But sometimes the weather just doesn't cooperate. As the sun was beginning to set a huge black cloud floated in front of it effectively obscuring and decent light source. And there wasn't enough time to drive to a different location before full night set it. So all I have is my test shots. Here's the best of the bunch.

Image taken 12 March 2011

The sky was so blue and the clouds looked so fluffy. It would have been a perfect sunset shot. But that's just the way it goes sometimes. In any event it was nice to get out of the house and spend a little while surrounded by nature.

Until next time I hope your weekend is going well!

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Seven

Easter has descended on the supermarkets. Well, actually they've been selling all things Easter for a while now. But I've been holding out - trying not to buy too soon (I mean, really, they put this stuff out the minute Christmas is over. What's with that?) But that's besides the point.

I finally gave in and brought myself an Easter egg. This particular one has a filling colored to look like the inside of an actual egg (kind of freaked me out to be honest). But it seemed like the perfect time to try a 'product' photo. Plus I couldn't think of any thing else to photograph.

Image taken 11 March 2011

It was so gross and melted by the time I had finished taking my photos that I threw it in the bin. I have no idea how professional food photographer's keep everything looking so fresh. They probably don't take as long to set up as I did. And so ends the tale of my first Easter egg of the season.

Another post coming up soon.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Six

I am a HUGE fan of words. To me new words are new discoveries. When I discover a word (new to my vocabulary) I simply can't wait to put it to use. So knowing that it's no surprise that I love my dictionary. Actually I own several. But my favorite one is a yellowed weather-worn Oxford dictionary.

Since it was the week of sick it was about time my dictionary made an appearance on project 365.

Image taken 10 March 2011

These aren't my glasses (distance is my problem). I brought them at a 2 dollar store simply as a prop. I wanted some glasses that acted as a magnifier. You know you're into photography when you buy needless things simply with the purpose of photographing them.

Stay tuned for more

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Five

So I went back to the old blog format. Nothing else I tried ever 'felt' right. Maybe I'll find another design I like one day. But for now I'll stick with what I know.

Yet another day sick in bed feeling like my head is about to explode. This is getting old. I find it very hard to feel inspired and creative when I feel horrible. But project 365 waits for no man or woman. Anyway today's photo is an idea I've been planning to try for a while now and it actually worked! Yippee!!

Image taken 09 March 2011

I think it pretty cool. I'm planning on doing a few variations on this idea when I'm feeling better. Don't you just love it when an idea actually works? I would love to have these scattered all around my garden or something. It would look like something out of a storybook.

Until next time I hope you're week is going great!

March 8, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Four

This shot feels like it's been done a million times before by a million different people but this is the first time I've attempted it. I'm actually quite pleased I managed to even take a photo since lifting my head up off the pillow seems like a feat. Yep I am still sick.

Plus I do own a lot of books. It sort of makes sense for them to feature occasionally in project 365.

Image taken 08 March 2011

I know that it's been done before but I love how the light and shadow makes up the heart shape really stand out. As a variation I tried focusing on the background (an open dictionary) but the heart shape just didn't have the same amount of impact.

Until next time I hope you are able to find a bit of beauty in every single day.

March 7, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Three

As you can see I'm trying out a new blog design for a while. I'm not one hundred percent sold on it. So I'll probably end up going back to the way it was. But I felt the need to change things up a bit. What do you think of it?

Instead of feeling better after my self-imposed sick day I felt worse. But I got myself up and dressed ready to attempt uni. I even started driving to class but then quickly had to pull over because I felt dizzy, clammy, and gross. While I waited for this dizzy spell to pass it became fairly obvious that I wouldn't be making it into uni. Luckily I was still relatively close to home and decided to pull up at the local park and wait until I was up to driving home.

I had felt all glamed up and beautiful until I started to feel woozy. But seeing as I had gone to a lot of trouble to get myself all done up I certainly wasn't going to let all go to waste. That's right it's self-portrait time *shudder*.

Image taken 07 March 2011

This was my first chance at using my new remote release and soft box for my external flash. Both performed really beautifully and when I'm feeling better I'm looking forward to experimenting with a few different ideas. I had to manually set my focus using the swing chain as a guide and hope for the best! What do you think of my attempt at a self-portrait?

What this photo doesn't show is the very unsteady walk back to my car. Anyway, I got myself safely home and have been tucked up in bed ever since - sleeping off and on whenever the mood took me.

I'm really hoping I'm better by tomorrow. Being sick gets really old really fast.

So I hope your week is off to a better start than mine.

March 6, 2011

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Two

About a year ago I started collecting sliver charms to add to a simple silver bracelet I've been wearing around for years. But I didn't just want to collect things I thought looked pretty - I wanted there to be a reason behind each trinket. And because I'm feeling sick today and as such am stuck indoors I thought now would be a perfect time to show it to you.
Image taken 06 March 2011

Of course you can't tell in this photo but each charm is tiny - no bigger than a centimeter - so it doesn't feel heavy at all. All of the charms represent certain passions in my life.

The book - I am an avid reader (you don't get the word bibliophile tattooed on your back being indifferent to books). The book also reminds me that everyone has their own stories to tell.

The globe - (The world actually spins on this charm... Talk about hours of mindless entertainment). I have always enjoyed traveling and one day I want to see the world. It always reminds me of the amazing places I've been and all the awesome places I've yet to experience.

The camera - Well that doesn't really need explanation, does it? A person doesn't undertake a 365 project without being at least a little bit passionate about photography.

The pallet and paintbrush - This is my expression of my love for all things creative. I love painting, writing, taking photos etc. In fact I'm drawn to anything that allow for creative expression.

The next charm I want to buy it either a typewriter or a computer as an expression of my love for writing. I suppose I could get a pencil or a quill but given that I hardly write more than my name by hand it makes more sense for me to go mechanical.

Well I'm off to bed to try and knock this sickness on the head before it can fully take hold. So until my next post I hope that you have had/are having a wonderful weekend and that you are able to indulge in your passions once in a while.

Project 365 - Day One Hundred And One

I'm a bit of a foodie. I love cooking, baking and eating!! For me cooking is so super relaxing - the clean-up not so much but the actual cooking part is pretty amazing. I have been know to slip into 'TV Chef' mode when I really get into it - 'next we beat in the eggs until the mixture changes colour'. Never mind that I am completely along whenever this happens. (Confession time: part of me has always wanted to be a TV chef).

So in amongst the business of day one hundred and one I made some individual portions of apple crumble. That's right it's time for a food shot!!

Image taken 05 March 2011

The top was so crisp and crunchy with the below apples were just cooked to perfection. I'm starting to think apple crumble may be one of my comfort foods. But that's why I cook it in individual ramekins so that I don't eat enough for five people without noticing it.

What's your comfort food?

Project 365 - Day One Hundred

Here we are at day one hundred. I'm actually quite pleased and surprised with myself. I thought for sure that I would have fallen off the wagon by now and completely given up on the project. Sure there are some photos that I haven't been happy with and some photos were taken in a bit of a rush. But on the whole I've been pretty pleased with how it has all been going. It's been good to have an on-going project.

Day one hundred was a bit of a rainy/overcast sort of day. I was planning to take a shot of these flowers in their natural habitat dripping with rain. But as I was attempting to take this shot at night. I found that holding an umbrella in one hand and a touch in the other while trying to focus my camera just wasn't working. So back inside I went clutching a freshly cut flower.

Image taken 04 March 2011

This darling frame belongs to a friend of mine. She graciously lent it to me for a little while... I have a couple ideas in my mind that I'm dying to try out. So there may be a few more pictures featuring this beautiful frame. I wish I could have made the entire background black instead of the white floor -- it would have made the white frame stand out even more.

Another photo is on the way...

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Nine

Day ninety-nine's photo can otherwise be labeled 'Eeekk!! The day's almost finished and I still haven't taken the shot of the day... Quick what's scattered around the house?'. But since that's an extraordinarily long title I'll opt for day ninety-nine.

Enter a pretty purple flower growing just down my street.

Image taken 03 March 2011

This photo is actually full of the best of intentions. Some time ago I saw the most beautiful picture of a flower implementing a mirror in the background. In that picture in some ways the reflection of the flower looked better than the actual flower (hmmm... Could there be a moral to that story?). My picture didn't quite turn out that way. Unfortunately my mirror has some marks that wouldn't budge no matter how hard I scrubbed so that takes away from the picture slightly. But I'm kind of in love with the flower's brilliant purple petals. It's like a punch of colour in a sea of white.

No matter what your week held I hope you were able to find just the littlest bit of bright.

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Eight

I have talked before about having some great friends who are as interested in photography as me. Well one of these friends and I noticed it had been a while since our last photography adventure and decided it was high time for another one. *Cue photo adventuring music* (Out of curiosity what does that sound like in your mind?)

We decided to take in the city sights as the sun set. I think watching the sunset just makes you appreciate things a little more. As a bit of a challenge we were also determined to try something a little different - outside of our usual styles and settings. I thought this would be the perfect time to try an implement the Instax window idea. This is what I came up with:

Image taken 02 March 2011

Thank Eloise for being my hand model! I really like the blurred, slightly bokeh-y background. It's kind of neat to have a picture in a picture... And then my brain went off into the possibilities of a photo in a photo in a photo in a photo etc for infinity. You never know I may give it a try some day.

Now because it was a photography adventure it wasn't a simple take one photo - I'm done let's go home. So I thought I'd share two other pictures from the evening's adventure.

Cities always look much prettier in the dark, don't you think? Everything gets lit up and you can no longer see the grime of the day. It all gets such a lovely glow. I can't help wondering how many people miss the beauty of it.

All in all it was a pretty fun evening photographing with a friend!

How was your week?

March 1, 2011

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Seven

Okay is anyone else completely freaked out that it's already March? Where on Earth did those first two months go? As I ponder that let me share the picture for day ninety-seven...

So it's no secret that I'm partial to a bit of food-colouring fun - and today was no exception. One of the great things is it can make loads of mess (and I do enjoy a bit of messy creativity from time to time) but it's so easy and simply to clean up.

Image taken 01 March 2011

It took a few tries to get the right timing and focus (since I'm still waiting for my remote to arrive in the mail!). And then it took a few more tries to get a slash that looked interesting. But I finally got one I was happy with. It looks kind of refreshing doesn't it? Since it was another scorching hot day in Brisbane I needed something to cool me off! SPLASH!!!

Am I the only one who hates the heat? Or is anyone else a cold-lover like me?

It took a while but I'm now finally up-to-date with my project 365. Thanks for hanging in there! So until next we meet I hope your week is off to a great start.

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Six

Day ninety-six didn't go quite as planned. I was meaning to go out photographing after university but it was so hot in Brisbane!! I'm pretty sure I would have melted on the spot. So instead I was left taking a photo in the comfort of my air-conditioned home.

Luckily I had a pretty little gardenia just waiting for it's photo to be taken.

Image taken 28 February 2011

Have you ever smelt the fragrance from one of this beautiful flowers? It is so heavenly! Not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect (apparently I have recently turned into Goldilocks). Sometimes the simplest things in life can make you smile. Like a pretty little flower in a shot glass.

Until tomorrow I hope this finds you safe, well and able to find a little bit of happiness.

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Five

I have a pretty amazing mum. Did you know she works for two different companies, lives life, and is completing a Masters degree? All while being a wife, mother, sister and general sorter-outer of life and family matters.

Yep she's phenomenal alright. I am truly blessed to have her in my life. To top it all off she's super creative and comes up with some great ideas. So when she suggested this idea as my photo of the day I decided to give it a go.

Image taken 27 February 2011

Aren't mum's awesome? I have no idea how she does it all! All I know is I couldn't ask for a better mum. I love her heaps!

Stay tuned for more...

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Four

There was no second sunset on my weekend away... because I left early! But before I left I went for a walk in the Rain-forest walk at the top of the mountain. There were some pretty spectacular walks around the place but I decided to take the tree-tops walk - it had suspension bridges up in amongst the trees.

What caught my eye while I was walked was this bright orange fungi (I'm guessing here) that was growing everywhere!

Image taken 26 February 2011

Isn't it pretty? I feel like they could glow in the dark and light a pretty path. Now I know that more probably isn't right. But part of me wishes it were. Like it could light my way to a pretty amazing adventure... But then it's possible that I've spent entirely too much time in the company of books and fairytales.

Hold on because there's even more updates on the way!

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Three

As I mentioned in a previous post I went off camping this past weekend. So after a long drive - longer than necessary due to a wrong turn - and setting up camp it was time for me to take my shot of the day.

It was so beautiful! We were up the mountain on a campsite in Lamington National Park. There wasn't any light pollution and it was so amazing to see so many stars. The photo of the day is the sun setting on my first camping adventure with my own camping kit.

I like the slight vignette this photo somehow developed. I could have happily sat and watched the stars for hours (in fact I did for a while). It was nice to be in some different surroundings and enjoy the natural scenery.

More updates still to come!

Project 365 - Day Ninety-Two

I have so many photo postings to catch up on!! This always works so much better if I post the day or the day after I take the picture.

But anyway on day ninety-two I was completely stuck for ideas and almost forgot to take a photo all together. I remembered just in time and my iTouch gave me a little inspiration. You see I still own my first ever iPod - back before colour or touch screens. Nothing like a bit of old meets new...

Look at how big the iPod is!! I remember when I first got it. I thought it was so amazing to have so many songs on one little (!) device. And it's only 4 gigs! Technology moves so quickly. It's hard to keep up with all the on-going changes.

Stay tuned for more
